The Registrar General's Department offers private weddings at an affordable cost; you have a choice of venue, an indoor decorated office at all RGD locations or an outdoor secluded garden at our Head Office.  The ceremony is performed by a civil Registrar or Marriage Officer.  You will receive a marriage certificate within 24 hrs of the registry wedding ceremony. RGD is ideally suited for wedding ceremonies as the Department trains and supervises Marriage Officers and also issues certificates of Marriage Registers..

Ceremonies are held Mondays to Fridays between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, and by special appointment on Saturdays.

Couples using the service are free to bring along their witnesses and brides may choose to wear traditional white wedding gowns, complete with veil and bouquet. If a couple does not have someone available to witness the marriage the RGD will provide witnesses on request.
