
Registrar General's Department (RGD) partners with
Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF)
On Sunday January 13, 2008 the Jamaica Social Investment Fund in partnership with the Registrar General's Department launched its Inner City Basic Services Project dubbed “Operation Certification” with a church service held at the Vision Apostolic Ministries in Spanish Town.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the RGD, under the auspices of the Ministry of Health and JSIF. This MOU will aid in the proper and complete certification of children within selected communities which is in keeping with the UN Convention on the “Rights of the Child.”
The project is scheduled to take place in thirteen communities islandwide namely
Bucknor, Clarendon
Shelter Rock, St. Catherine
Central Village, St. Catherine
Craig Town, Kingston
Knollis, St. Catherine
Whitfield Town, Kingston
Federal Gardens, Kingston
Jones Town, Kingston
Lauriston, St. Catherine
March Pen, St. Catherine
Flankers, St. James
Tawes Pen, St. Catherine
The Registrar General's Department is scheduled to participate in this all island outreach though the services of its Mobile team.
